Weston-Super-Mare Beach Day

It was the most stunning summer-like day ever!

Y A Y – COVID 19 first day when Mr Johnson allows families to meet again outside.  We dropped everything and planned to meet Kip, Becky and Poppy at Weston for the day – regardless of the weather. Turns out – it was the most stunning summer-like day ever!

We packed Frankie with an abundance of goodies, food, beachy stuff and left very early doors to avoid any unnecessary M5 traffic.  We planned to meet at the quiet end of the beach where you can pretty much drive straight onto the sand. Unfortunately – the tide was in and it was a spring tide so we all ended up on the ‘Prom’.

As it turns out – having paid a tenner for a day’s parking, we had chosen a perfect spot.  We set up chairs and tables next to the van and out came the canopy for shade.  We ate and drank, played and walked and Poppy was in here element all day. Never a grimace, a tear or a moan all day. She also wore Grandma out by walking pretty much the whole beach – twice! Looking for the sea….

As we hadn’t seen each other for so long, we had a lot to catch up on and it was lovely just being together again.  Poppy loved Frankie and she though that she was the best playhouse on wheels EVER!

Poppy was not fooled by what we told her were big raisins – ” are these dates Grandma?” she said after overhearing us mentioning them to each other. She’s so smart 🙂

It was getting late, so we let Kip & Becky get Poppy home to bed and we sat and watched the sunset until sloping off home ourselves.
