Frankie's first outing

We were following guidance - but still felt just a tad naughty;)

Of course Covid 19 had put paid to ideas of boundless adventure. Staying in the local vicinity was favoured so we headed just across the way to the outskirts of Charlbury…

It was a spring-like February day and we hadn’t been any more that a few miles since the major engine overhaul, so we decided just to pop out for breakfast – Van Style:)  The first open spot we came to was top of the Windrush valley overlooking Charlbury. There was an empty lay-by, so we parked up and admired the view – and Frankie naturally.

We boiled the kettle and set-up a wonderful fresh breakfast and simply sat and took in the views.

Just a simple layby - but what a glorious day

Considering that we hadn’t made any changes to the interior as yet, we were comfortable and we took time to discuss what we would like to do to improve her.

It was a stunning day and a real break from the grey monotony of the 3rd lockdown.  We were following guidance – but still felt just a tad naughty;)

The sun beamed and so did we…

Once our breakfast and a few cups of freshly brewed coffee had gone down, we packed up and went for a drive around the local beauty spots, ending up in Minster Lovell where we parked up for a while.

First attempt at deploying the awning was a success, but with no chairs or tables as yet, we felt a little foolish and having grabbed a couple of photos, we headed home.

Awning a go go!

Our tiny excursion had allayed any fears we had about her comfort and reliability.  She drove sweetly now with a brand new gearbox and clutch and everything worked!

The interior was sparce
Not the manliest of poses

We resolved to put our heads together and come up with ideas to make the van our own.  With Alli due some time off, the thought of being able to spend some time on something other than our home was thoroughly welcome.

We set about listing all the things we could do, and then started the list again because we had been silly…we really could do without a jakuzi:)

The discussion continues. Watch this space 🙂
